The city of Moscow's early history is connected with Prince Yuri Dolgoruky, who arrived on the territory of what was then the small settlement of Moscow on 4 April 1147. At that time, Moscow was a tiny fortress at the top of the Borovitsky Hill. The online tour shows viewers fragments of the oak fortifications that made up the first wooden walls of the Kremlin. Viewers can also see images of the Kremlin's first stone walls, which arose in the late 14th century. Viewers will also discover at what point the familiar red brick walls were erected and what other fortresses appeared in the 16th century. The online tour is guided by the head of the Archaeology Department and curator of the exhibition, Ekaterina Svyatitskaya.
